Oops, posted early. Maybe you'd get an item back. But still, maybe you wouldn't. Quite a risk. And then there is potentially the risk of recharging. Server goes down while your strings are on a merchant? Sad times [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This is your answer. When the question is, "why does a hammer cost 5k?" the answer "B-b-b-b-b-b-because I'm t-t-t-oo b-b-busy looking for an excuse to charge you 5k."

Piss on that. Plenty of people own strings and give away Hammers for free. The only people charging money for it to random people **are the people who are scummy and greedy enough to 'risk' their puppet strings when they know full well that they would be reimbursed.**

This why I haven't. I was just looking for insight into why people that do sell it charge what they do [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

Two Puppet Strings = ~500k

If you're only buying one, then how do you recharge? Begging someone else to recharge for you? That's gonna cost you. And hard to find.

There aren't too many people with 250k to throw around that are guildless or friendless. Generally, I would assume friends help each other recharge. I'm sure each big guild on the server has either a recharge toon or a person with several fully charge items on an alt.

Just roll an enchanter or necro, then you won't have to worry about the prices!

The allure charm has a chance of failing, I have had them fail 2-3 charges before even with enchanter tash, and giving the charmer a CHA buff, charging 4.5k for not having to go through the work of factioning is a very reasonable price, it saves you hours of killing those sarnak and turning in braids. Having to pay 200+ k for each pair is most likely the reasoning also to charge more than the cost of recharge. even with 4.5k pricing it will take more than 100 charges to make your money back on 2 pairs. Also, there isn't a risk of someone taking them, I have spoken with Sirken and he told me if someone chose to take them it would be considered a scam for a fair service and they could get banned for it and you would get your puppet strings back.

I'm sure the GMs here would do something if someone attempted to steal the Puppet Strings while doing the OT hammer. It's still not fun having to deal with CSR and waste the GMs' time because someone thought they could get away with scamming you.

I sell 0-3 hammers on average a day.
But I have to sit in EC for hours upon hours.

I probably could make more plat doing HS(if I stop dieing in there) or maybe FBSS(Catherin route)

It's a good supplemental income.

To me its like selling weed on the side of a real job, its not gonna make me rich or anything but it gives me some spending cash every now and then.
