I can play eq on a macbook from 2007 with 1 gig of ram and a 2.0 ghz processor. You can most definitely play it on yours. It may not run above 30fps but whatever, it's eq!

I am not sure what a good FPS is. I am sure the faster the better, although I have heard to an extent it no longer matters since the human eye or brain can only notice so high, but I have no idea what that is. Regardless, what was the fps for Classic EQ to begin with?

There's only one way to find out, get titanium installed and try it out. What do you have to lose? 15 minutes setting it up?

Windows 7 is fine. 2 Gigs is fine, though it is an oddly low amount of Ram imo for a machine with Windows 7 on it.

It is not quite as simple as that. The game costs money, I am assuming between $30-$60. That is expensive for a game that is not promised to work or if it does, works horribly. I know of no stores that would allow me to take an opened game back, especially a PC game with a CD Key.

Put those scruples on hold and there are means of acquiring a copy for free. I'm sure SOE wouldn't grudge somebody a copy of an obsolete client.

In any case I'm sure somebody will post some instructions shortly...

Well I am not much into getting a free copy. Yea I know, I am willing to play on a server that is "free" with maybe giving donations, but not willing to steal a copy of the game. A little grey area I am sure, but I do not mind paying for the content, but since I wont be playing on "their" servers, it doesn't really matter if they get extra money after the fact or not.

But I had no idea it was obsolete... I have not really bothered even looking at PC games since Planes of Power, so I have no idea how old it really is.

SOE gives you access to pretty much all the content in Titanium for free, you can download the game off their site and log into the servers for no charge. They don't make the discs anymore, or support the client. The only people losing out on money here are the assholes selling it for $150 on amazon.

If you plan on buying a copy of Titanium be prepared to pay significantly more than that. I've seen some going for $150+ on amazon...and i've also seen people here tell us that they bought one. Seriously, just go down to the bay and talk to the guy dressed like a pirate, he has a copy that you can borrow.
