Can I Play The Game On This Laptop?

I use to play Everquest back in the Trilogy days and even Shadows of Luclin. My desk top was not all that good back then, but it sufficed, although I could not go into the Bazaar. Now I have a laptop, but I am not sure if I can run this game or not. Obviously I can just look up what the system requirements are for Titanium, but since we are not using all of it, only the trilogy bits and pieces, but with new user interfaces and possibly graphics and effects that are in between, I need to know if this will work or not. In fact, I have to make sure I can even install it to begin with. I know on my old desk top there were some games that out right told me I could not even put onto my PC let alone play them.

Windows 7 Home Premium
Compaq Presario CQ 60 Notebook PC
Intel ( R ) Celeron ( R ) CPU 900 @ 2.20 GHz 2.19 GHz
Installed Memory 2.00 GB
System Type 64-bit Operating System

I have no idea how good the video card is. I am assuming it is stock. I can play some Aeria games fairly well like Last Chaos, Shaiya and Eden Eternal. Although the graphics are turned to their lowest and some places slow me down. I hope I can play this game, even with everything turned way down, although I do like to have a few characters with updated characters models when I am in an area where that particular race is in the majority. Thank you for your time and patience.

This server runs on pre luclin graphics, I run 2 gb ram and a dual core processor (winxp though) and it runs fine here

You could probably run EQ on a modern microwave

So I'm gonna go with yes

You could play on a pentium I with an 8 mb video card.

Turn all your windows graphics down to XP level, it helps a remarkable amount. You'll be fine with that setup.

Also dual-core laptops have a lot of random issues, I mostly play on one. When I boot EQ I either get a normal running EQ or a laggy one. I'll have to close and reopen EQ a couple times to get a good boot. Or you can run a youtube video on mute in the background which fixes that lag.

If you run into problems you'll need to set the affinity by right clicking on your EQ icon > properties > target box. And add:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C START "EverQuest" /BelowNormal /affinity 1 "C:\Everquest\eqgame.exe" patchme

I did not realize I even had a dual core... Isn't dual core better than one core? (Sorry, I am practically PC illiterate...) How do I turn my graphics to XP level? I wont be able to run Youtube the same time I play the game for sure, either the lap top is not good enough or my connection is not so that is out of the question. Why are there random issues with dual cores in the first place? This lap top is old, shouldn't they have fixed those issues by now? I will try your suggestion for right clicking and adding that line of text.

Why and how do I go about fixing that? Is there a way to swap 7 for XP?

Does that mean I can play on this lap top? Some one else mentioned Windows 7 is no good and dual core has issues...

Is there a major difference between XP and 7? Someone else mentioned 7 was bad... Is there a way to fix that?
