my experience so far on Origins,
rolled a kobold savage, got in a zerg group, went from level 5 to 18 in what seemed like a couple hours, maybe a little bit more.

Honestly I might reroll a shaman or a stealth class like hunter or shadow blade,
maybe it's the game in general or maybe it's just the nature of zerging, but I have no idea what I'm doing, I run around following the dude I'm assisting, then I press assist, then I press attack and it's too late the mob is dead and everyone is already killing the next mob, maybe I just suck at melee,

plus I'm left handed so it's hard to use the arrows and look for tab, etc.. I'm getting really frustrated and honestly not having fun, the conversation isn't even good.

I realize everyone has played this game to death and just wants to get to end game but damn I feel like I could put my guy on follow and walk away for an hour and no one would notice or care.

tomorrow I'm going to solo for a bit and try to learn what these 20 style buttons do, because I don't have a clue.

and like people were saying make the bow class your alt because you need to equip him and solo and stuff, I think you could just join a zerg group and tag along and you'd be high level in no time anyways.

Right but these zerg groups are gonna dry up eventually. Once i hit 50 on my merc i think im rolling a new toon right away to ride that xp train again before it settles into regular put put xp groups again.

I can't decide if I should continue with my savage or reroll as something else. Do you think my targeting / lack of melee skills would get better as a hunter, seems like snipping someone would be less button mashing than savage with all the moves and evades- insta buffs.

or maybe I should play a shaman and do support for the melee

Exactly what I was thinking.

Got 50 on Healer last night, 30 on my Skald right now sitting in an exp zerg.

You'll find that with any class there is a considerable learning curve once you're out in RVR. You'll need to develop muscle memory for your abilities/skills in PVE where the pace is less brutal. When it comes to PVE, melee tends to be easier (imo) since you don't have to worry about getting interrupted or needing to CC and your skills aren't make or break to a group. Zerker is probably the simplest button mashing out there during the pre-TOA time period. Hardly even have to think about positional or reactionary styles just spam doublefrost.
