No they had a problem with emails being sent out. They manually activated all pending accounts: http://daoc-origins.net/forum/viewto...p?f=210&t=3590. I know I'm set now, I just have to choose which realm to start with. It will probably be midgard because I really want to try a fully implemented bonedancer.

I guess in a few days or whenever we can start registering other accounts.

well, got the XP nerfed. Not the first time I've been the most hated person in a daoc sever unfortunately.

I didn't notice an xp nerf after the patch.

Definitely no xp reduction as I logged right back into Odin's Gate and dinged another lvl fairly easily with raid XP.

We do have a group bonus for grouping. There are other bonuses for leveling in RvR zones. These bonuses seem to be working. The goal was to encourage people to work together AND to be in the frontier zones where RvR can (and will) take place. Some groups have been planning where and how they would level for months. These people participated in our beta and learned where the good leveling spots are for their play style. We did observe organized groups leveling. Some of these groups have been playing together IN DAoC for 10+ years. They have a plan and work/play to the plan. They use voice comms to keep their team focused. They level rapidly.

However, our game's leveling isn't designed JUST based on groups like that. This is a game where you CAN level up solo, or duo, in small groups or in zergs.

And of course DAoC isn't primarily about the PvE experience. It's cool that some people CAN level quickly to become ready sooner for the RvR experience.

Prior to launch, these forums had many posts saying leveling was too slow. Now, we see some people say it's too fast. We've told you before that we could adjust the leveling experience ON THE FLY without even needing to reboot the server. I had my finger on the XP adjust button all night (no it isn't really a button), and I never saw the need to use it. Some people were leveling fast and some more slowly. It's an MMO. People have different play styles and we aim to provide a good experience for all. We shall continue to monitor the leveling aspect of our game over the next few weeks.

In my opinion, to refer to our XP system (which is designed to encourage grouping) as a bug is misleading. You can discuss how you think the design could be improved but please don't call it a bug. Our devs have been working on this game for six years now and it's upsetting to hear their design called a bug."
