Play the game, enjoy it. Dont worry about being an epic poopsocker like this guy. In game name (troriste). There is pvp to had at all levels and a group like the one your forming has everything really you would need.

I am a paladin, i could maybe see if I have any spare stuff I can part with.

Get magic resist gear as quickly as possible for you guys would be my best bet. travel as a group everywhere you go, there is definitely strength in numbers.

Qeynos area would be a very good place to start for you guys as well.

1-3 - Newbie Zone
3-5 - Catacombs , camp injured rats, undead knight for +5 hp jewelry. other items.
5-8 - gnoll fangs in qeynos hills, rabid wolves (turn pelt into priestess in rodcet nife cleric guild for good xp and pp) get your druid the jagged pine crook.
work on doing the shining star of light quests for your pally and cleric.
8-14 - grind the shit out of blackburrow, turning in fangs.

14+ = befallen if your up for a challenge and uncontested dungeon.
or if your up for possible pvp unrest.
maybe stop at crushbone to get u guys shiny brass shields, prayer clothes of tunare, bracers of batlle. screaming mace quest for melees.

i often time hit for 103 in combat.

unsure of what a handful of 50's means for this argument.

paladins also not able to be large races?

reckless strength = +20str , yaulp2 = +20 str.

base str 121 = 161 str, on par with a lot of large races.
