if you don't prevent cheese you get cheesed. not sure how people find the balls to complain about sucking to their opponent.

I don't plan on playing SC2 competitively, I've always liked RTS's from a sim perspective, I like building massive armies at my own pace and usually play Terran or Protoss, I like how insanely well Terran can turtle up, but I don't know if that's still the case in SC2. So far have completed 3 missions on the campaign, retardedly easy on normal difficulty, will probably play back through on the harder difficulties.

if anything they are even more defensive than they were in sc1. depots can be lowered, bunkers can be recycled, and they are still the kings of ranged weaponry. in every metagame situation they have some unit or ability that forces the enemy to move in close to engage.

I've only used medics, marines, and bunkers so far so looking forward to seeing what new units are unleashed. I might even give zerg a chance but I usually hated playing them because I like less units with more power.

protoss then imo. once you get a deathball going (consisting of 4-5 colossi, a flock of stalkers and a sprinkle of high temps and/or sentries), there's very little that can stop you, especially in the lower leagues. in terms of unit / supply cost there's really nothing that can beat it in a straight brawl.

Yeah I've done carrier swarms back on SC1. Fun stuff. I have no idea what the FUCK the guy before him said. Yes I do know the balance of power per unit is Protoss > Terran > Zerg but I also like the defensive nature of the Terran. I have an equal love for Protoss Terran. My life for auir/jim raynor.

this would take a long ass time and if your opponent was good you would be dead before you could do this

assuming you don't build a single unit until you can start producing colossi, of course you will die. experience will teach you what the proper pacing of the game is, and how many units you have to produce to stay alive until you can forge your army of death.
