After starting a class that can't summon food/drink, I was buying exclusively muffins/milk and my troll would eat through them like nothing. I would frequently buy 4 or 5 stacks before going out for the day. Just recently I switched to Iron Rations (Hearty Meals). Now I only need to carry around 1 stack. I don't have any proof, but that's what I've experienced.

I noticed that i am going through a lot of food in game as well. This might be a bug.

There was a thread about this in the bugs forum last month. It looked like food duration was going to be fixed, but it never showed up in the patch notes. I've also noticed that where food and drink used to be consumed at the same rate, now I need to carry about 1.5 stacks of food per stack of drink. Something's definitely still out of whack.

This food duration issue is "Fixed, pending update." Check the bug forums.
