Food Duration

Has anyone else noticed that food seems to be depleting faster than it had previously? Even when force feeding myself iron rations (hearty meals), I don't retain the "you couldn't possibly eat anymore, you would explode!" message nearly as long as I used to. Is food (and drink) bugged or am I imagining things?

I ate half a stack of paladin pickles in less than an hour on my human

No such thing in classic, iron rations will last as long as muffins.

really? i remember buying muffins and milk because they were super cheap but you burned thru stacks of it. i thought that was during kunark but i guess i'm wrong @@

I'm pretty sure they added the tiered food durations during kunark, though it could have been velious. My point is that I feel like I'm burning through food and drink like they're snacks, not meals.

Food does seem to be going faster than it was a few months ago when I played Blue99. As a cleric there, I would summon 5 food and 5 water and it would be enough for that EQ session. Now, on beta, I'm having to summon 10 of each to be good for each session.

Late Velious:

Food Changes:

Food items now have a 'duration'. This means that some food items will not sustain a character as long as others, and some items will sustain your character longer than they did before.

So if food duration doesn't change until late velious, why does it seem wonky now?

fuark 10-22-2011 04:16 AM

I was actually thinking that this was wonky too recently. For some reason it seems like the food duration is way shorter than it used to be. Thought I was crazy, but interesting to hear someone else was experiencing the same thing.

it took 6 loaves of bread to fill up my paladin with food in his bags automatically eating.
