Play until about level 55 and P99 is a nostalgia wonderland. 55+ is the only area of the game that needs adjusting

55-60 on a class that can solo is still a wonderland because there’s all kinds of places you can go. 55-60 on a class that needs a group is maybe fun the first time you do it; after that you’re just doing the same 2 or 3 dungeons over and over again

Beating the game involves handing out Lendel's Lagers to poop sockers, leading groups of drunk level 4 halflings into daring raids on Runnyeye while waiting for a rez, chilling killing low level mobs for trade skill components to make tasty treats.

<Dept of Fun> & <Cracked Staff Artisans> have both beat EQ/P99.

I used to look up the best possible piece of gear per slot for my class that could be acquired without any assistance or raid (basically via plat trade), and while it wasn’t BiS there were a few that were pretty comparable if I recall

Also I believe one can buy MQ of SS or thurg pieces w/o needing to raid. So basically u don’t have to raid to have raid quality gear but you will have to farm hundreds of thousands of pp.
