Thank you very much Savok [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I now have horizontal hotbars. I couldn't get the classic icons to work though because when I installed them they looked incredibly disfigured with a dark red background. Not as important to me though as the horizontal hotbar, so I'm set.

If you have downloaded the UI updates listed in my sig then default and default_old will both have 2 horizontal and 2 vertical hotbars. These can be opened by setting UI macro keys from the Options>Keys panel.

If you have the Velious UI without the optional extras you will only have 1 hotbar. Download the extras zip file and copy the EQUI_HotButtons.xml file to your Velious folder and reload with /loadskin.

If you have my Vert UI then you will have 3 2x5 and 1 horizontal hotbar as standard, with the option of downloading different variations.

If you use a different UI from above then your on your own!
I've followed this exactly but I still do not have a horizontal hotbar......

I'd be happy with default old and 4 horizontal hotbars, and a tweaked player window that shows hp/mana in numbers (current/total) with %'s. That's pretty much what my UI is on live [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Ok, so here's what you want to look for. Open the following file:

EQ (or whatever your root is) -> uifiles -> default_old -> EQUI_HotButtonWnd.xml

If you have Notepad++, that's what I prefer, but you can open it with a browser window aswell (I think mine was IE by default).

So you want to search for hb_button1 (capitals may be different). There should be a whole definition for this button. Things like ScreenID, Font, and Location should all have defined values. Next, search for hb2_button1. If it doesn't have the same filled in information below it, and just perhaps has ScreenID, then your other hotbars are not defined, and can't show up.

I don't know the details of what you might have missed in Savok's files, it might be worth trying to re-download his stuff. But you can also try other UI skins. Each UI has it's own EQUI_HotButtonWnd file which might have those hotbars correctly defined in it. Lastly you could fix it yourself if you wanted. For each of the hb2 elements (HB2_Button1, HB2_Button10, HB2_InvSlot1, etc) you should be able to copy and paste the same contents as what are defined for the first hotbar (HB_Button1, HB_Button10, HB_InvSlot1, etc). Hopefully that makes sense, let me know if you have other questions.

Edit: This will only work to get your other hotbars working, but now they will all be the same (vertical or horizontal). You'll need slightly different definitions for the elements if you want the subsequent hotbars to be different.

Thank you! I will give this a shot when I get home. I'll download everything again and do a fresh install on the UI.

I need my horizontal hot bars!
