Hey look it's another person telling other people how to enjoy a game. OP are you that rustled by people who have more than you that you have to create a thread which starts off trying to generate discussion, but ends up just being an outlet for you to insult a large part of the server population? Do you realize how silly it is that you're stating your opinion and then preemptively shitting on others opinions?

Anyways, since this dogshit pile of a thread is destined for RnF: OP is poor, bad at playing EQ, and is projecting his insecurities. I thought you would have learned by the "Green mob plat farmers" thread you created that people here don't agree with you, but you seem to be a resilient crybaby. Take your own advice - try another game.
Mmmm, not really. I played EQ the day it came out until I reached lvl 75. I am new to P1999 but not new to EQ. I had a blast then and I am trying to decide if it is worth my time now. If it is just about plat I won't be staying long. Just getting info. you are welcome to think whatever you like as far as my motives for the thread though. Makes zero difference to me.

Saying "Man, that was fun!" after a long session. When the game feels like a job you need to put in some hours for, you're losing.

Feels amazing <3
What is more sad wasting your life playing a game you enjoy or quitting that game but then still hanging around the forums and posting about how great it was to quit?

Best thing they could do for this server is to find a way to ban all forum accounts from people who don't even play the damn game.

Why does it matter to you how other people measure their success in EQ? You say you wont be sticking around if it is all about plat, but the only person who can decide how you measure your success is you. Shit is subjective as hell. Some people enjoy EC trading, others raiding, others questing, some like trade skills. If I play to max trade skills, and you play to raid, neither of our decisions has any impact on the other's.

The reason you're getting a hostile response is because it is a dumb question. So what if some people play to acquire plat or loot. Play how you want to play and don't worry about what other people are doing. If you can only have fun playing a game when everyone else is playing how you think they should, then p99 is not for you. Part of what makes EQ great is that there are so many different things to do and ways to play, and arguing that one is objectively better than another is dumb.

Off-topic from the original post, but Eve Online's gaming economy outshines the market game here in Project 1999.

Definitely. This is the competitive raiding scene in a nutshell. Shit is the antithesis of fun.

fun is kind of a subjective thing. i would imagine people find some enjoyment out of it otherwise they wouldnt do it.
