Don't let the age deceive you, I still like playing Quake pvp, though still a CTF mode player which is becoming even more rare in recent years. A lot of
older games are just far more superior to modern games in about every way. Modern games don't chase fun factor so much any longer, they are all mostly F2P games chasing after the "MMO big whale" (A good google search term) player willing to spend $1000's in the item shop before they move onto the next game, both gamer and developer/publisher. At least with red or p99 in general (I hope soon discord too), you get players that are just really liking a game over decades, willing to stick with it, even when we have less active numbers than the trendy come and go games. It's just too bad Verant developed EQ pvp as more of an afterthought, but still appeals to some pvpers.
