We NEVER deleted characters nor accounts. Create a forum petition if you would like to find out more information about your situation.

I know of one character that got banned for RMT years ago, whose name is now being used by another player. So at some point some accounts have been deleted otherwise something else fishy has gone on with this one name in particular.

Story of my life, if I had a dollar every time I logged into the wrong server and felt that drop in my stomach thinking all my toons were gone. I'd have a lot of dollars.

When I had an account banned on red for reasons that never added up, I tried to remake the character with the same name but it was still registered. Not sure if they do a wipe on banned account characters but it's not "immediate", if at all.
