IIRC it was clerics and shadowknights w/ Paineel.

The only evil option an Erudite could be at launch was Necro.

Way to necro the thread =P

Small tangent now that this question shakes my memory, and I am not sure if this is listed anywhere inP99 patch history, but one reason erudite SKs were interesting is the high starting INT.

Once upon a time, before Velious, hybrid classes only had HALF the mana of full casters, and also had to wait their full weapons delay after a spell completed to swing the weapon, rather than the weapon delay continuing to "tick" while a spell was being cast.

Anyone know if P99 had these effects earlier in Blue timeline? Because currently, hybrids are using the post-patch formula where their mana matches that of full casters, and their spells use the same mana cost as full casters, and their swings complete while spells are being cast (resulting in a swing going off just as a spell does).

The above are not how the game was at launch.

Dunno about Green/P99, but there's definitely patch evidence for that:

Quote:
Rangers, Paladins, and SKs now have mana equivalent to that of a pure caster with the same stats. This will give those hybrids a good deal more mana, regardless of their stats.

Due to the above memory shake, I made a new bug post regarding hybrid mana pools, inflated spell mana cost, and hybrid weapon swing timers.

Have a look.

Narrows down which hut and talks about which 2 npcs give quests in the hut:

http://www.thecomputershow.com/compu...everquests.htm
Quote:
This quest takes place in the Tox Forest. Talk to the female guildmaster (forget her name) in the necro hut. She wants you to kill Darla Starfire, a level 5ish npc who is supplying the hated Kerrans. Your reward for turning in her head is a torch. Another lucrative quest. For Erudites (clerics, paladins, and those who follow prexus or quellious) :
The peacekeeper staff is a staff useable only by erudite clerics and paladins. The staff does 5 damage and has a delay of 28. The only real advantage of this staff is that it grants +10 charisma when held. This quest begins at the clerics guild in erudin. If you accept the quest you will be sent to the Tox Forest to search for an NPC. The NPC is in the first hut to the right after you leave the city gates. He will give you a staff and directions on how to continue the quest. Basically you will be required to kill a treant and bring back the treant shards to the NPC. When you do so he will grind them into treant resin and hand them back to you. You know must get the other required item to combine in with the treant resin to create the staff. Go to the vault in erudin(the bank) and talk to the banker on the far left. Tell him you are in need of some vasty deep water. He will tell you that you need a guild coin in order for him to give it to you. Now return to the clerics guild and tell them that this NPC sent you to get a guild coin. You will be given the coin. When you give it to the banker you will receive the vasty deep water in return. Combine the water and the resin in the staff and the end result will be a peacekeeper staff.
This quest takes place in the Tox Forest at the necromancers hut. Talk to Marzius Denison (I think that's his name) on the right side of the hut. He will tell you to go kill Rungupp, a fippy-type NPC who runs around yelling that he will kill all erudites. He's a level 6ish troll shaman. Your reward for turning his head into the guildmaster is a rusty dagger.
More mentions of these 2 quests here confirming the npcs and necro hut being populated
http://www.angelfire.com/bc/brentcopeland/toxxulia.html
(look but dont click on this page, has some pop up crap if you click)
Quote:
Rungupp:
This annoying troll runs around the forest screaming challenges to the Erudites. He can generally be located somewhere along the shore from the bridge to the mountainside. He is fairly tough to kill since he casts blindness on his adversaries. Take his head to Marzius Denison at the necromancer's hut and you will get some money and an item.

I would really like to have this working for green launch. I'll see what I can do.

Any additional research about this would be helpful.

Best bet is probably to put the equivalent paineel
necro vendors and trainers here, move them to Paineel on open. At least the quest NPCs are named.

I've looked friggin everywhere this week and every wayback link for Tox bestiaries.

It wouldn't be the first time we corrected place holders when someone came out of the woodwork with their old hard drive of screenshots.. if u do go this route..

You're a saint for caring about doing this and I hope they can be added in a "probably correct but replace as evidence is found" state.

Good progress so far.

Quote:
Flee the gates of this pathetic city, and join the ranks of most powerful masters of the arcane. Our army grows stronger everyday, and soon we shall overtake Erudin, and then all of Norrath. Take this note to Pluxia Vaktus. She is the current leader of the Heretics, hidden deep in the forest of Toxxulia. Join Pluxia and the Heretics, and one day we shall rule all of Odus.
