I think its fair enough to ask if a person would be willing to swap names.

But you can't really expect them too... you don't own the name... maybe ask the guy nicely... but if he says no... just move on.

Coincidentally, I was approached by someone today who asked if I wanted the name Zander, which he has. So I may potentially be Zander instead of Zanderr in the future if GMs will swap our names.

It's always funny to see people who want names so badly they butcher the spelling of them, e.g melycendre (melisandre from asoiaf), knightt (knight), the list of them on p99 goes on and on.

Thats because Dbags hoard cool names. I bet there are people out there with multiple accounts filled with just cool named level 1 toons to screw other people. Personally i choose a name 10 years ago playing EQ that i never heard before and was never created in another game. Due to this i still have people even here on p99 that send me messages asking if i am the Thulack from live servers(which i am).
