Nobody expects that they will never meet a rude person, but the general attitude of people that have played here for longer than a couple months is a lot shittier than most people would expect. To tell people that they shouldn't expect any better is bullshit, and tells me that you are probably one of those people with a shitty disposition that causes this server to be populated by the same few hundred high end people with a low end population that is essentially a revolving door. Eventually P99 is going to run out of those friendly and enthusiastic new players and just be stuck with nothing but the jaded, disgruntled, basement dwelling neckbeards that take their frustrations out on each other.

If you don't raid at the upper end and don't worry much about the forums then the P1999 community is about average for most online games. The most irritating folks congregate at the top of the raid scene where they mostly interact with each other. Even there they're probably a minority, just a particularly loud and visible one. P99-Red receives special exception because flaring tempers and trash talk go hand-in-hand with PvP games. It comes with the territory.
Contrasting the P99 and EQC communities probably serves little purpose. Given the number of folks who participate in both communities, myself included, they're in effect one and the same. The EQC boards are better solely due to the high degree of active moderation. One note: P99's average community, surprisingly, is rather young: mostly in the early-mid 20's. Lots of folks here were little kids when EQ was new. I was surprised to find myself a bit older than the average here. As such this community naturally doesn't exhibit the sort of conservative maturity that a forum populated by 50 and 60 year olds will. Long story short, this is neither the best nor the worst community I've seen. Danth

Thread delivers again! Keep up the QQ.
If you (Beledic) thought that EQC was going to be this magical land of tele-tubbies and bluebies holding classic hands you sir are naïve. It would have been a magical land of exploits where yeahlight tears flowed from the sky like rain!

I guess I never realized just how well the moderators on the EQC forums did their job. Perhaps this forum could use some moderating. There seems to be some cold angry people on this forum. I am not a member of many forums so perhaps I am not aware this is how people talk to each other on the internet.
