by this they should have polled around ten thousand people and not just over 1200, from a quick overview.

i know, and that's where the issue is. 1247 isn't enough. they use the mathematics to generate the numbers, release it as data (technically it is), and conclude what people already probably know with some numbers backing it so it sounds good and tidy. who funds them for this stuff because they're getting ripped off.
