btw, "interfering with the business operations" only applies if you make the company lose a buncha money ie, you order a bunch of product and back out of it because you never intended on buying it.

You would have more luck if whoever called was really rude to everyone there and threatened or cursed at them and caused distress.

If the guy or girl just called you 3 or 4 times, was polite, and shot the breeze with you while you were working at a corporation there isn't much the police can do. If you call them hundreds of times they could tell you to stop calling and grant you a restraining order barring you from contact but that is about it.

I figured they just called and asked for you? Regardless i'd like to hear you spin how this equates to interfering with business operations. If your employees are too incompetent to decipher a prank call and hang up then them wasting their time is as much on them as it is on the prank caller...

Most small businesses would laugh and continue on trying to make a dollar.... I got pranked before infront of my boss and he just rolled his eyes... This was people calling in asking for dumbshit. Are you adding dramatic effect?

they probably said they found this number on his dating profile and were trying to find out his salary before going on a date with him. obviously the person had to call 3 different people to find a HR rep at this small business, so he was interfering with business operations!

He was pretty sure it was me until Giggles came into FE vent and talked with me and heard my voice.

we all like to have fun here making fun of each other's rl pictures, assumptions of jobs, etc etc etc, but i do agree taking it to the next level and contacting someone's place of work is going overboard. if alarti come out and said all sorts of negative stuff about his company and i had their info I would never mess with his well being over differences from a video game or forum...

Harassment is a normally a tort. This means the injured party has to hire a lawyer on their own dime initially (assuming the jurisdiction allows the recovery of attorney's fees for that particular tort).

IE: The police/courts aren't going to do anything unless the harassment continues and becomes severely disruptive, crosses over into something criminal, or the previous instance severely damaged business operations.

TLDR: If you win you'll get like $5 worth of damages and a several thousand $ attorney bill that the other side might have to pay. The odds of lawyers getting involved are extremely remote unless the in-house counsel is over-paid, extremely bored, and feels like gambling with company $. So, never.
