you guys are being too hard on the Greek community in colleges. They are easy to make fun of, I will admit. But really, come on. Some people like to join a group, others like to be more independent. This does not make them sheep, cowards, or whatever else is being tossed around here. And I know lots of frats and sororities do some nasty shit, and can be pretty pathetic, but there are lots of frats and sororities that do serious community work, charity work, and also, give people a circle of friends to help them make it in this often lonely world. Give them a break.
And no, I have never been in a fraternity. I lived in the "study" dorm at my school. I did not think drinking beer all weekend was very much fun. I only went to a few frat parties, and they were like all college parties kinda fun, kinda stupid, kind drunk, and lots of foolishness.
it's college. give the kids some slack. They need it. It's hard out here in the adult world.
