They eat Mantis Shrimp like lobster in Asia, freaked me out a bit when I first saw them in a fish market.

They are fun to watch. I have seen them demolish snails and hermit crabs in a tank. There is a shop near me that has a species tank with one in it. I have seen it break glass, plastic, and anything else it wanted to.

I was debating on setting one up at my office but then I figured if a client came in with their kids and one of them stuck their hand in the tank id end up with a lawsuit.. Stopped that line of thought real quick.

Actually a mantis shrimp is considered a pest it wasn't until more recently that people started keeping them in species only tanks. Almost any actual live rock(pulled directly from the ocean and transported) can have hitchhikers in it which can include mantis shrimp, aiptasia, different types of worms and other things. Some of the more exotic looking ones can be upwards of $100+

Haha yeah, it'd have to have it's own reserved special space of course. I'd love to watch it smash and destroy stuff though, I love the sound it makes when it stabs stuff.
