The difference is between holding the key down with your finger or having it held down for you.
Ahh but this points out just how flawed your argument really is.

Sure I can hold down a key here and have it repeat, lets try it now..

"4444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444 444444444444"

So we've established that holding 4 down in Google Chrome will auto-repeat the 4 key if it is held down.

However, if you go into Everquest and attempt to hold the 4 key down to activate a keyboard macro, it will not repeat!?

Oh my, why would this be?

Well, it's quite simple really- Everquest was written differently than Google Chrome was! In fact, Everquest waits for the operating system to send it a "KEY UP" event for the number 4 before it will reset the button and allow the macro (or item on the hotbar) to fire again!

You see, the developers at Verant/Sony very specifically wrote the client so that you couldn't just hold down a macro button to repeat the action. They intended (and forced through code) for hotbar items to be tapped, not held down and repeated.

What Helicopter was doing was using some sort of third party utility- be it hardware or software. That specifically faked the button being tapped instead of being held down, because as I established above. The Everquest client was not written in a manner that allows you to hold down a key on your keyboard and repeat a hotbar action.

Is this clear to you now? Or are you just going to start spewing again about things you know nothing about?

Logitech G510.

Instead of the bottle of Jack, you should pick one of those up at the store next time and try it friend.

FE spinning sooooooo hard. Program or not he admitted to duct tape. He wasnt physically there holding the key it amounts to a low-tech bot. I.E. cheating.
I mean I can see it being a grey area, but I think the only real problem is AFKing while utilizing it. Otherwise, I see no issue with holding the key to spam IF THERE IS NO THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE BEING USED TO DO SO as opposed to jamming the key.

Is the circle jerk done yet?

you got an FE member that was spamming his button suspended for 3 days.

Congratz TMO, clearly spending more time white knighting or pointless stuff rather on trying to out mobilizing us which you fail at lol [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I own a g510 and i'm in game right now and it will not let me spam my goblin earring when I hold down the button.

Now if i go to the logitech website and download the macro software for the g510 I can set it to "toggle repeat" when a MACRO key is is held down. Keep in mind you can bind any key but there are 15 specific macro keys on the side that you can program to repeat when pressed.

That is using a 3rd party program that is cheating, don't spin it, your guild got caught accept it.
