Exactly. FD wasn't connected to anything else. You lost agro randomly on mobs as soon as you feigned. Everyone who played a monk knows this. Sometimes you'd wipe the ones you wanted, sometimes the opposite. Every time you feigned was a roll of the dice, no sneak, no hide, no invis effected FD or agro unless the mobs were on different factions.

True!! I remember waiting for the spell gem to refresh before standing and invising so that you could quickly FD again if it didn't work the first time.

Mobs that reset back to their spawn point would forget you, but roaming mobs would be a roll of the dice
