Honestly this is the only problem I really have with this whole thing.

There are many countries that require mandatory military service for the entire population upon exiting high school. Not saying we should do anything like that, but I also don't think this is too serious, it's not like what their going to be saying is legally binding or anything like that. They don't suddenly have to die for their country because of what they said.

However, I do have a problem with people being made to proclaim, 'So help me god'. Although this is similar to 'one nation, under god' in the pledge, its not the same. And even with that, there's a ton of controversy. Personally, I don't mind the 'one nation, under god' thing, because its not making *you* specifically designate any particular faith, it just makes you acknowledge, in my opinion, that this nation was founded in general as a nation with free religion, and that the majority of those religions believe in one god.

This stupid, 'so help me god' bullshit, is making you admit to being someone who fears god, even if you're agnostic, or atheist. Why should someone say 'so help me god', essentially a promise under god, when they don't believe in ones existence? thats fucking bullshit imo. Retarded ass bullshit, and everyone should know it. There is *supposed* to be a separation of church and state, yet more and more republicans are trying to shove laws up our asses under the declaration that "It's in the bible!" or "God says it to be so!"

I don't give a fuck if god says it to be so. Someone may believe in a god, but it sure as shit isn't necessarily YOUR god, nor does that person necessarily believe a fucking word written in the bible, so why are they forced to follow a LAW based upon it? I honestly can't believe these people can't see the amount of bullshit their shoveling right onto peoples front doorsteps. It truly infuriates me to see this happening all the time. Look at gay marriage - the number one argument against it is, 'the bible says marriage is between a man and a woman, and a man lying with a man is an abomination!!' So what are you going to do, burn all the fucking homos? Your bible says its an atrocity for them to even lay together, why let them exist? you're going to draw the line at just not letting them enjoy the benefits/disadvantages of being married? Fucking pussy. pull the trigger if your conviction is so strong.

Its fucking bullshit that we have to put up with this religious bullshit on account of people claiming 'this is a christian nation blah blah blah'. Fuck. That. This is a nation of ALL religions, races, creeds, and sexes. It is *not* up to the bible to decide what our laws are. Period. Separation of church and state. I honestly don't know how that could be any clearer. It means that your RELIGION DOESN'T DICTATE WHAT LAWS WILL BE MADE. End of fucking story. If you're going to stop gays from getting married, at least come up with a valid excuse, and no, I don't think 'it will destroy our society!!! Think of the children!!' is a good reason. Its just unfounded bullshit, like everything else.

I expect politicians to lie. I expect them to cheat.But I at least expect them to do it within the bounds of sanity. And without blatantly disavowing an essential tenant of our country's founding. Keep your bible the FUCK out of my laws, the fuck out of my FACE, and the fuck off my doorstep. Keep church and state separate.

In conclusion, fuck having to say so help me god as a requirement for ANYTHING. At the very least, let people opt out of that bullshit, but preferably, don't put it in at all because once again, its breaking a prime tenant this country was founded on. So fuck all that. Keep that bible the fuck off my table and the fuck outta my salad. I got no problem with you following any religion, thats the wonder of america, but the second its being forced upon me in the form of a law (and I truly feel this is like having the law shoved up your ass), that's the second I get angry. I'm not necessarily a fucking liberal, but alot of times I'm glad I live in such a leftwing state because on some issues, they just make so much more fucking sense.


Fuck this shit. tl;dr separation of church and state is not a guideline, its a hard fucking rule. keep your bible and your god the fuck out of laws people have to follow, because its straight bullshit when you pull this, and yet it gets done al the time. Fuck republicans. Most of them, anyway.
