Warden Symbol is classic. The quest is just bugged.

I usually dump it into Wis and put the rest into Str. Str = carry more of the loot you get with high Wis [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Wis and Str items are usually harder to find, anyway. Seems like it at least. Still hell up to 14 spell set of course, until you get a good dot for root.

5 point's later on, who cares? Great for starting stat for the extra few carry and melee dmg points (forced melee to an ELF). OP wanted to know how to roll, not mid to max. And if you don't max Wis, may as well roll a human and play in Surefall, make a pet oriented Drui. Max Wis as in roll points, I don't think the original poster has twink equipment as join date seems to indicate new on this server. *shrugs* this is how we roll... [You must be logged in to view images. Great class for getting past mid-level hell-grind syndrome, just starting is rough. Just make sure to get it down knowing when to dump your self-heals during early battles. Lead with your first dot too, takes down AC as well. btw I'll take a good-ok 2H staff too hehe [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

It's important to note that short of 200 wis and a manastone druids cannot quad specs at 34. 200 wis and 39 sans manastone or 40+ with less than 200 wis.
Edit: and even at 34 with 200 wis and MS it's dicey due to resists. But doable. Double edit: 110 wis makes this much easier. You can do it without the expensive GEBs and Mithril Tunic. This makes the Paw the only item you'll shell out more than 500-600 for. There are also viable +mana or +hp items (for ears, especially) that can replace crummy wis items later on and make up the missing stamina easily.

All of that said, to answer the OPs question, you can't go wrong with putting max points into WIS and rest into STA, but you won't gimp your character regardless of where you put your points, you just might waste the points, is all. CHA gear is very easy to come by once you have some disposable income, and that's only a concern if you care to use charm. Personally, I'm a big proponent of maxxing your main stat ASAP so you can then experiment with alternate gear on some slots bringing up your weak areas once you start going over cap....Like resists or AC and STA, or even just going for +mana items for some slots.
