Saw the mutha, fuckin, hobbit

Movie was good, i saw it in imax 3d. Generally im not a huge fan of 3d movies because i think the visuals can take away from the story, im a big proponent of content over flair (obviously, playing 13 year old rpg). Having said that the visuals were so good int his movie that i think everyone should see it in 3d once a least, because it really does look amazing. Making this movie into a trilogy is a bit of a stretch though, the movie kind of drags on for the first hour or so, especially the scenes at rivendell, which completely felt like they were just there to give some added importance to what is essentially just a treasure hunt. Still an enjoyable movie, just not lotr quality, but thats a tall order.

Also i don't remember who was talking about the treatment of the dwarves in lotr, but i completely agree with you. The dwarves in this movie are light hearted at times, but they are still taken seriously, especially thorin, he is a badass.
