Don't know that any stats on the weapons you give a charmed pet matter apart from procs.

And giving a pet weapons makes a very big difference at high levels, and a still significant difference at lower levels. A level 45-50 mob quads a surprising amount of the time. Weapons + haste make a level 50 mob do better damage than a level 60 rogue player.
