Very easy painless procedure. VA deals directly with the school so you dont have to front any money...ever. VA deals with all the tuition payments directly with the school. It has nothing to do with your state, its all VA ran and its very well streamlined.

Yea, I'm familiar with the Post 9/11 since that is what I'm currently collecting; however before the switch I was getting tuition waived by the state and ~1900 a month (kicker / other bonus), where as now I'm only getting ~1400. Pretty much the combination of the old federal benefits with my state benefits having been a Wisconsin resident at enlistment were superior to the Post 9/11 benefits.

Not saying that for most people the Post 9/11 isn't a huge upgrade - just for me personally it wasn't.
