IMHO it was because of the bugs on Red at launch + holocaust being dickheads, made it not worth suffering through the beginning so everyone went back to Blue, but that's just what I gather from the posts on here.
Back on topic, jousting is for losers. Fighting players like they are mobs has and always will be the superior, more manly strategy.
