You also realize that while the mob is dotted, you can sit and med while its attention is elsewhere (rooted, being tanked etc). Once the dot lands, the damage is there and done, but if a nuke is resisted (fully or partially), the mana is a waste.

Ok I am not sure if you are trying to be funny, but if you truely don't see the flaws in your argument I don't know what to say.

What part of nuking means that you CAN'T sit and med? The dot cause more agro in the long run, so unless the dot has a better mana efficiency, then nuking is far superior in a group and once nuked you sit down while the mob is being tanked.
I can nuke a rooted mob as well as dot it, as the dot has a DD component it doesn't change, so I can nuke and then sit down and med.
Finaly... Dot's get resisted too, so they are wasted mana in the exact same way as nukes are. Oh and there is no partial resist on dots, so when they get resisted it's 100% wasted and not just partially wasted.

There is not one single bit of sense in what you say [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] It seems that you just need the dot to be worthwhile and you are making up just anything in it's defense.

Which is exactly why you have a debuff spell to reduce their resistances so your dots won't get resisted. A dot won't break root, a DD will. Learn your shit.
