Default New (to p99) necro questions

Hi all,

First let me say how happy I am to find this emulator! I played EQ for years from vanilla to PoP and miss it terribly, especially the "old world."

I played a necro before, so naturally that was the class I have rolled. I was curious about 2 things:

Do Iksar suffer from the XP penalty on p99?

and

Do necro pets adopt the speed of weapons you give them, like they used to in vanilla EQ? I remember pets with fine steel daggers were real beasts.

Thanks!

Thanks guy. One more...

Is the old pre-nerf Circlet of Shadow in the game? The instant one?

That xp penalty makes race a tough call imo. My old necro was DE, maybe I will reroll for variety despite the penalty.

I'd say go for the race that interests you. If you played a DE on live, a benefit of rolling an Iksar now is that you'll experience content new to you as you'll be starting in a new city / continent. The major downside to the Iksar is that they are KOS pretty much everywhere. You can fix this with faction work but it can be tedious. Don't worry over the XP penalties and focus on enjoying the game..

There's two masks with DE Illusion isn't there?
Anyway, I think the mask you're talking about no longer drops, though I could be mistaken. A more knowledgeable person will, of course, come around to correct me. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
