According to several members of the "premier raiding guild" of p99, "Casual Scum" doesnt deserve primals or to experience any content at all for that matter. Who here besides them has seen all of kunark and atleast attempted all of the raid bosses once?

Shit my guilds still waiting for a legit shot at CT without being trained or having the zone desynch because some guilds think people actually kited all of plane of fear during classic/kunark eras, LOL thats a joke. Honestly I'm looking forward to velious for one thing, to finally be able to experience kunark in its entirety without quitting my job irl. Pretty sad right? Unfortunately though thats what we have to deal with around here thanks to certain people.

I think the sleeper is a good test of the maturity of a server.
Think we've long since established that the overall maturity of the server ranges somewhere between foreplay and racing towards the egg.

This is one of the many aspects of EQ that could be much better if the implementation was re-thought.

There was some mystery to the Sleeper encounters back on live, but most every server that release after the initial Sleeper issues did not awaken the sleeper (the mystery was removed, and maybe the server's raiding population was more mature).

As we all know, the one thing missing from p99 is the mystery. Which is why I am not a 100% on the "if it's not classic it's garbage" group. I like emulating classic as best as possible but with the understanding that it will never be classic, because we already know what is behind the curtain. The mystery is not there, so we must emulate the experiences as best possible and maybe even try to let as many people as we can experience classic Everquest in a way they may not have been able to do so on Live, or to experience classic EQ in a wa that you cannot experience on Live currently.

The Classic move would be to leave the encounter as is. Allow a guild or two to farm the items and then subsequently awaken the sleeper (if they choose so) making access to a good handful of weapons 100% limited.

Note: There is no guarantee that the server will awaken the Sleeper, maybe we could prove that. Still not awakening the sleeper is not experiencing all that Everquest had to offer.

I think another good move would be to allow the encounter to reset but give it a substantial re-spawn time. Respawn timer would be something like 1-2 months + a random number up to 28 days. While it would still allow guilds to release the sleeper and limit access to these valued items, there is still a small chance that more of the populace would be able to experience the encounters and farm warders etc. While at the same time for at least 2 months Guild A could do their happy pixel dance.

In my opinion rethinking implementation of classic experiences would be the most beneficial for the server as whole.

This is a thoughtful compromise.

Or 6 months, or a year.
