server select crashing

I have been posting on another thread - not sure if this is more appropriate.

The blue server has been down for some time again. I have seen this problem happen twice now in the past few days while I was online. When the bug manifests, play appears to continue normally until you zone, at which point you are kicked off the server. Attempts to re-log into the server are refused - not at login but rather at the point where you attempt to connect to the server. The character select never comes up, rather you are asked to log in again.

Presumably, there is some kind of sequence that is common to getting a connection to the server and walking into a zone - looks to me like there must be a bug in that sequence - maybe a resource allocation issue like failure to check memory alloc return and/or a memory leak (though if a leak, it could be anywhere).

Is there any debug logging capability in the connection establishment code?
