I remember for sure that the monk BotB was fists only and that epic was the only item that could be clicked. It created an uproar, because the Epic quest was kinda new (or at least not that many monks were epic'ed) and the epic fist + the epic haste would not leave a chance to the non-epic monks.

There was a similar issue with the Magician BotB I think due to the vaste superiority of the epic pet.

Also in the Monk BoTB, they aren't using 2handers. So Monks may go fist/1handers only. I await staff input on this one.
