im just gonna speak up for some of the folks that have been playing on this server for years and dont post much on the forums. i only skimmed this thread, but sense i started this server more then 2 years ago, i have read the forums atleast twice a week.

i still have less then 100 posts.

i think prob 60% of the server is like this, i feel bad for rogean and nilbog, they have worked hard to give us a free game (one of the better ones made i might add) and forum trolls with 1000 posts a week shit all over them.

oh, let me make a thread every day saying this server is great and awesome and alive, perhaps people will believe that.

my point is this, the loudest voices are often just yelling bullshit, while the rest of us farm seafurys and chat with our guilds quietly.

Your talking about a bunch of unemployed, overweight alcoholics that are collecting gov monies. What else do you expect them to do? Have some type of life?

This is really interresting. In over 1 year i have been following the threads on this forum, and i can't, for the life of me, understand why so many posts are so negative, and filled with hate. Why is this forum attracting so much negativity, when its goal is unselfish and good?

What motivates people to write negatively charged posts, on a forum for a free online roleplaying game? If there is a psychologist out there, please give us your expertise!!

As I figure it, you've got probably 50% of players who are casual players, 25% that are between casual and hardcore, and 25% that are hardcore. With one guild soaking up a good 200members of a low pop server it breeds this sort of stuff. The negatively charged posts on the forums and what not are honestly a coping mechanism for people who have no real social life (aka too much free time.) Some of the trolling is done by people that are on a med break and what not or waiting for a camp to respawn. Which is still due to lack of anything better going on in their lives that they're just comfortable with trolling. That's the way I see it. I mean, I've trolled in other games before a damn decent amount but never did for P99 because it's everquest man! That trolling shit was fine in other mmo's but not in EQ. It ain't classic, it's kiddy shit.

16 players on red right now and 120 players on blue. I remember the good old days were we had 160+ players in fear racing for CT. Lets face it this server needs velious. But just like when we were waiting for kunark and they told us it is almost done and will be out soon. One year later we were still waiting.

The loss of thread tags and overzealous forum banning stifled the forum entertainment value that kept most of the community recycling after losses of interest or playing other games.

That and face it, love or hate, I kept shit entertaining. Now it's just a server with neither hero nor villain to give it purpose.

Or removing your name Pronstash (which is harmless and inoffensive, not to mention fully within the rules), when there's a dude name Bigazz roaming around? But hey, he's level 60 so the rules don't apply to him.

The following types of names are considered unacceptable:

Vile, profane, rude, or racist names including common swear words, anatomical references, racial slurs, and homonyms of these words.
Combinations of words that produce an offensive result (e.g. Hugeazz, Tug Mcgroin).

It's literally the second sentence in the naming policy. FFS.
