Here is a simple solution:

Make news of a 200-300% xp bonus a week ahead of time before it goes live. Implement it for ONE month, consider and look at the turnout if it doesn't improve population, scrap it.. if it does, let it linger another month and hopefully it motivates more people to play.

I've leveled multiple 50s, it's not terribly hard but then again they were all casters. I could care less if they implement an xp bonus for a month or two if it actually brings new players into the world, I don't care for it if it's just going to make people level up alts faster. It would need to be something closely monitored by devs, but I believe giving a several week advance notice of it would help turn players to it.

I was against it initially, but really it is obvious the server is in dire need of something that would shock the population or any potential players, and that would be a serious EXP bonus. I know it goes against the grain of classic, but classic pop was never 40 people on primetime. For the people that say it devalues their time or the time it took them to get 50, who seriously gives a shit when this server has basically turned into a single player experience?

I've also agreed on an xp bonus and stated in a couple of post's that I disagreed with Rettiwalk.

I've been working on trying to get new player's, hopefully if they decide to make it a bit easier to level it will be easier for me and most others to attract new players and returning players to come back. The server will become more populated and later on due to the high pop rate will end up getting an expansion, work's out for everyone imo. The first step is convincing the higher up's to boost the xp.

Good sir-- there is not a PvP death corpse of Hijinx on this server. Period. I'd even go as far to say that they can't even dig one up through their logs, it. just. doesn't. exist.

Didn't help that you and your crew quit so easily. Not a knock, but I was expecting a lil more dedication .. Yes, I whole heartedly agree that the server has issues, and many things are broken-- but the truth is if you want to play on a classic EQ box with PvP, r99 is it.

The >20 or so Holocaust that quit did definitely make the server less interesting, at least for me and some other people who liked the PvP and the contested raids. As soon as it became just farming gear I and others peaced out. But there are larger things at hand here and players not involved in that whole song n dance that quit for a plethora of reasons related to the server, and some of the people that handle it. Oh well.

I mean, the GM disbanded us for doing the exact same Nihilum had done for a month, suspended everyone present and banned the officers. What had been an equal footing for PVP up to that point became insurmountable when it was finally undone and nihilum had doubled in size with all max 50's and dragon loot. Was over. No one wanted to play on a server where decisions like that could be made on the spot.
