A Rogue is just about , well it is the worst class on here, to start as a noob or solo. So imagine my surprise it has been a hard row to hoe. Maybe a re think might be in order. P1999 still is the best thing going I think.

There was a time when we were ecstatic to have 300 players at primetime.

Some of you new folks need to quit bitching, play smart or just get out

In fairness, there does seem to be a dead-spot in finding groups in the 35-45 range.

Been messing around with my 35 shammy and I haven't had a lot of luck with groups either, not that I've tried that hard, either. You really have to be proactive with groups here, more than on live. During this same time my buddy has had no problem finding or putting groups together on his monk. It's his first main here and he has been flying thru levels....I've been spotty this week, he's probably passed me by now. He throws together whatever group will move his bar and really isn't having any problems.

It's what you make of it, really.

Being in a good guild is pretty much needed now that there is less people playing lately. You have to figure nearly 50 to 75 people that are on are in the EC Tunnel most of the time. So that doesn't leave a whole lot of people to group with at times.

Ive managed to find groups from 40-45 in City of Mist pretty easy. Just gotta go out there and actively find groups rather than sitting in EC with /lfg on.

Mistmoore is decent still until 40, Just gotta be brave enough to hit the Dhamp area.

It's a shame about the IP exemption. I have been in two groups in two years on this server. Both were fun. I normally just duo. Me and my wife. Pally and a druid.

Of course, I'm the masochistic kind of paladin that does solo. Helped a lot once I got my clickies (Deepwater). Up to 45 though, me and my wife duoed. There are plenty of places.

I know I've mentioned on the boards that I've declined unsolicited group invites. I think someone above put it best: this game is what you make of it. There's min-maxing for fast advancement, but to me personally, this was never ever the intent of EQ until after the Velious era. This game was meant to be played slowly over a long period of time.

You can't "beat" EQ. Sure you could reach a personal final goal, or truly consume all of the content and have best-in-slot items in every slot for your class, but... that just defeats the idea of a persistent world in which you live as your avatar.

I remember all the silly shit I'd do in live (and here to a lesser extent) just wasting time. Hey! I wonder what's in that little house.

I still talk to NPCs as if they'd respond.

I guess my TL;DR version is "What's the hurry, man?"

If you only find XP progression to be worth the time to play, then chances are, you are playing the wrong game. EQ was not designed for that. It was designed to be a place to lose yourself.

I've loved my almost two-year tenure here. I hope this server stays open for at least three more with its current population.

We take breaks too. My wife is a time-starved player and I've wanted us to stay the same level. Two years, we're L51. I'm going to go log in now with or without her. I could be L52 today even if I just solo. I get a new stun at L52!

See you all in game!
