You still lose your shit when you die on hardcore in D3. Pretty sure what you're talking about is: dying in the arena and your character not being permanently dead.

Not sure how they're going to square it w/ the roleplayers BUT it'll probably be something like: your character doesn't die in hardcore arena, but is merely knocked unconscious.
