I was a warrior on live, and I was just about dead broke until I started raiding. All the money I earned was invested back into weapons/armor and other upgrades. Once I was raiding my guild funded my resist gear, etc.
I didn't make real plat until I played a caster. As is the case here on P99. I can go anywhere and solo almost anything and farm rares, or fine steel. Money is not an issue here due to my class. There are also a few "key" items that are easy to farm, and quick to sell. Very similar to real life. If there is a demand for a particular item/class items, go farm them and sell them over market value. Congrats you just made a profit, and everyone is happy!
This is also the reason people refuse to sell SSoY's for less than 14k now, because the demand is high for warriors (best aggro weapons atm), as well as the influx of warrior alts. We all know who the real tanks are come Kunark/Velious
