If you only have the 12ish k to spend on your monk, I assume that it could be better spent than on a fbss and nothing else. At least spend a couple thousand on some decent weapons and wu's and jewelry, and then worry about the fbss once you can make that money back or if you get lucky and find a great deal for one.
