Never in my life of p99 have I resisted 1 nuke completely ... and for partial, doesn't happen often enough at *all*.

Agreed, for fire/cold.

Yeah but, who cares about NPC resists on this server.

Random, but curious: Can you partially resist dots? Everytime I see dots go on, it always goes 100% through guaranteed, or never ends early.
|
No... never been able to partially resist dots in EQ.

Originally resisting magic was much easier and more important than elements. Magic is what we stacked to resist impairing effects. 30+ is good, after 70mr you should almost always resist magic spells if its like original EQ.

Yeah, the problem is you need 150+ MR to have any chance of resisting magic, which means you can't stack much FR/CR. With about 150 MR you can resist mez/root maybe half the time. The problem is whirl, which is like never fucking resisted for some reason. To add to that, it's unclassic-ly overpowered and needs to be changed but there's been no dev response on the matter. Magic nukes are about the same as FR/CR, at 100+ MR you might partially resist some magic nukes here and there, but never fully resist.
With 200 FR or CR you'll never full resist anything, and you'll be lucky to get partials. You're not actually gonna have that much unless you're with a bard because you need every MR item in the game to even start resisting CC spells.
And there's additional issues. Any spell that's not a full on nuke works on different resist coding. For example, Fire & Ice Druid nukes are useless because they're resisted almost all the time, because there's a -FR/CR debuff
In other words, partial/full resists as a whole need to be increased.
