In classic I had to run and jump to get away from most mobs, or I had to strafe run. Here, you have to run and jump to get away from most mobs, or you have to strafe run. It's exactly the same as it was in classic. If you find you're moving very slowly you might want to use WinEQ2. See this thread: http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3609

Maybe, but then it seems like melee range is about 29.2 here. Mobs also move at a much faster rate for P99 than they did in Classic.

Why, were you encumbered? This is not the way I, nor the dozens of other posters I've seen automatically assuming faster mob run speed on P99, remember it. You jumped a few times to get ahead of the pack (running out of your yellow fatigue bar in the process), then coasted on auto-run to a zone line, and it would be fine.

Here, you turn around, take a few steps, and every mob in the game catches you within literally about two seconds. That is a gigantic disparity in run speed between here and Classic. Mobs should not be naturally faster than players. On P99 and R99, they are very much faster, I would say at least 10%.

If mobs were faster than players in original EQ, it would have to have been at most 2% for people to be able to auto-run to the zone line to remove aggro. The only time you died in such situations is if the mobs had their speed buffed or if you were too late initiating your escape.

If I have normal selos with no drum, mobs catch up to me with ease. I always thought that's weird too. Not encumbered. With drum it's fine, but with no drum, mobs catch up so easily i have to constantly jump with a loot .. not sure what's up with that.

I remember mobs always being able to catch me on live, unless i straifed. Not sure what you are talking about mob speed is correct.

Selos also seems very slow to me as well. Our low level DoT has a very small range. I am hoping the level 18 DoT has a much larger range. Selos with a drum should be much faster than sow...that is how I remember it on live.

the lvl 18 dot has longer range for 100% sure but u can hit moibs with ur lvl 2 dot it took some time for me to learn but its doable and its not that hard... but the lvl 18 dot is very easy to hit mobs with compared to lvl 2, and i have no problems running from mobs without drums and with selos.. although sow is faster than selo with no drums.

This is exactly how it has always been. I learned how to strafe run by level 4 on classic, so I could avoid being hit by skeletons while running to guards.

As for the Topic: Chords of Dissonance spell range, it is definitely lower than Denon's Disruptive Discord. I have been kiting for 30+ levels, and there is an obvious distance in range between these two spells.
