You can't solo anything you cant tank yourself on an enchanter without getting 25% exp per kill from my understanding. Is this wrong or just a difference between blue99 and red99?

Your pet has no taunt and is uncontrollable and your nukes pull aggro in 1 nuke because of the stuns. If you don't do at least 51% dmg you get 25% of the exp. If you don't nuke you do no damage unless you melee in which case you are tanking the mob and might as well nuke.

high skill cap
that's the key, right there. the whining you see on the forums is from people who should have rolled a class more appropriate for their skill level. you can still charm solo and get 100% exp if you break charm before you kill, but you have to be a skilled CC'er. enchanter's still better than most of the classes for soloing.

Druids are terrible in group? What game do you play? Have you seen what sonic bats do to naggy?

Bards take a bit of learning, but they are the most fun pvp class in the game imo. Very powerful, but not in ways that are very obvious at first (kinda like enchanter, as Snukie put it).

you are correct in stating that druid charming can be effective. charming in general is extremely effective, and that's part of the reason why enchanters are so powerful. still, i can count on one hand the number of druid's i've seen able to effectively utilize charming in a group environment, because most of them are terrible at this game and partly because druid charming is extremely limited. as far as raids goes: the ability to use charm against raid targets in old world classic is essentially limited to nagafen and vox. using lvl 50+ charmed pets in the planes will be dangerous and unreliable until kunark comes and the level cap is raised.

in the many cases where druid charm cannot be used, what else do they bring to a group? subpar heals, subpar dps, subpar buffs, all things that specialists do better. the versatility that allows the druid to perform well in a solo environment is exactly what limits his usefulness in a group environment.

ok more detailed info on why druid > you

1. powerlevel - this is a form of grouping without grouping which druids exceed.
2. transportation - porting members to the spot for raids(very fucking important)
3. jack of all trades - variety of spells that can be a big help like CHARM ANIMAL and SONIC BATS. ENSNARE
4. dwayne wade - spirit of cheetah (necessary at times to save yourself in outdoor zone, can port friends back later to retrieve corpses)
5. hulk hogan - buffs/heals/dots/nukes
6. peter pan - evac when shit gets rough.
7. community -GROUP SPELLS LIKE PACK REGEN AND PACK WOLF FORM.

in your typical group:

if a cleric, tank, or enchanter/bard goes afk, the group shuts down until they return.

if a mdps goes afk, they will be sorely missed until they return.

if a druid goes afk, nobody will notice unless they are told beforehand. (or 5 minutes later when someone finally notices that you haven't moved)

If you want a class that you can excell in pve and pvp that are also user friendly and not to huge of a learning curve, necro and Druid.

The other classes can be difficult pvp. Some say Mage, mages are terrible in pvp but good in pve. I do not recommend a melee or hybrid. Enchanters take skill or you will fail. Wizards are pretty easy but don't have many options spell wise, ppl chose this class knowing what they have because They have experience with the game.
