I seriously doubt population on red99 will fluxtuate even 5% from some shit mmo. theres a reason we play a 12 year old game, it's not because it caters to 13 year old sperglords.

also the reason you're playing a 12 year old game is because you miss the essence of your youth that you lost to millions of hours of grinding for jboots and corpse runs. You're essentially having a nerdy mid life crisis and you strike out at anything that dare threaten your inner sanctum of childhood

You're probably right in the assumption that the population of red99 won't fluxate even 5%, but that's only because the population of red99 consists mostly of people trying to relive the glory days of when they were young and actually had friends on the internet. Let's not glorify PVP on Everquest like it makes you some kind of hardcore badass because you do it. It was shit easy in 1999 and it's shit easy now, the only thing that matters at the end of the day is that the guild tag that you're wearing has the biggest zerg.

The reason games like WOW and SWTOR have(will have) millions of subscribers is because they're actually fun. You can call everyone who will play these games mindless 13 year old sperglords, but keep in mind if you're careful, in Everquest you could level 1-50 by just pressing Q.

Red99 makes me happy. A solid non instanced world that doesn't try to make excuses for removing static zones based on population. Make more servers, charge more per month, real world dynamics are worth fighting over. Fighting like a fucking faggot in a premade instance every 20minutes with gay shit like capture the flag is some elementary school recess bullshit.

I like everquest because it's a static world.

I have been in the beta test for the past 9? months now. Game is leaps and bounds above where it was.

Some cool facts:

Developers arent allowing queue's in the game for anything BUT pvp warzones. Reason for this is that they do not want to ruin the immersion of the game.

Gear from pvp is only achievable at certain levels, so people don't just sit in the queue all day.

Questing comes with the story, so it makes it more... realistic/immersive. The story is good, Bioware has an outstanding track record with implementing that into their games (regardless of what people say here)

World pvp.(if you are on a pvp server)

Ships, and a railshooter...But it becomes more interesting the farther up you go in completing them. Most are pretty difficult. Mainly a timesink, but does yield rewards.

From the most part, going light side is pretty boring, but if you go dark side the storyline gets pretty fucked up(in a good way).

The raiding in it is pretty dynamic, with WoW based hardmodes etc.

World bosses on every planet(contested).

Combat is fun and unique, especially when doing it in PVP. Nothing like pushing people off cliffs or into fire.

OK... On a side note in all the builds i tested Bioware didn't let a lot of people in, so by the time the build ended there was only a handful of max level characters to do bosses etc. BUT id imagine that once the game releases and the player bases mature you will see a lot of hardcore competition for contested shit, and it will be even more fun on a pvp server.
