Server Return

i dont get it...so if not friday it will be monday...ok, np, but does that mean we will have no server on weekends from now on? thought datacenters & their support are on 24/7!

Our bank buys trays at a time for the netapp. Makes it seem so trivial but then you see the bill. lol The dumb thing is they never seem to get the same drive size so you end up wasting a disk or two for spares when if it was the same size your original spares could remain the spares and all your new disks usable storage. I think it's 16 TB max per aggrogate though. Either that or 18. I wonder how much of p99's data is dedupeable.

The datacenter and the server are running on the weekends.
But judging from what Rogean said, the support isn't.

Which is the problem, because I'm sure weekends are when the server gets hit the hardest?

Well if they are waiting for something from a supplier... the supplier doesn't supply on weekends, that's why the wait is till Monday. Server support might still be available on weekends.

I'm sure it has to be. I realize this is an emulated free server, but still. There has to be support. I haven't been on the server longer than a couple weeks, but I'm sure there have been some resets etc on a weekend.

Weekends have to be the hardest hit days of the week.

I don't believe they are waiting on a supplier anyways, they overnighted the hardware they were waiting for (rails i believe?)

Even if it gets racked tomorrow it still may not be ready to play on until Monday. It all depends on the configurations we need on the network.

Looks like work that needs to be done on the server, which wouldn't get done if there is no support on weekends.

so the server needs some configurations. i thought configurations are made by the owner of the server... remotely? so why monday and not sat or sun? (as long the server is racked up today)
