they have been around 15k for several months now, pretty much since Kunark got released...mainly due to all the melee twinks kunark has brought in (monks mostly)

Haste Items boost a melee character's damage potential up more than any other stat item. Add that to the FBSS being rather uncommon drop (I assume), and the high demand for haste items due to the influx of melee characters and easy to acquire melee weapons and gear from the Kunark expansion perfectly explains the pricing.

Face it, GEB's +9int/+9wis and Rubicite BP's 19 ac and +3 regen outright benefit to the classes that can use them do not remotely compare to 21% worn haste that benefits when 6 out of 14 classes (7 if you include bards) that primarily deal damage via weapons. Add to the equation that any melee class that has an FBSS will use the item until they gain a better haste item if they ever get one (so the item is viable from level 1 to 60). Means that they are not re-entering the market like other items are. (Ie i buy a 10/30 sword, 10 levels later i find a 12/25 sword, so i sell the 10/30 sword)

So yeah 15k for FBSS sucks, but it's the market on this server, as long as people are willing to pay 15k for haste (which they are) the price will not go down. Eventually more haste items will enter the market, and the price will begin to go down.

speaking only of farming platinum, i'd say 1k / hr is probably the fastest you can get anywhere, there's a couple of places you could do this such as seafuries, skyfire aoe etc.

that doesn't include reselling items (such as FBSS) which is probably faster.
