I think Trolls have a lot of weight as Warriors. Ogres get a tad more str/ sta in the beginning, but later (as in Velious -- Barbs, Ogres, and Trolls will see the max in those categories first). If it were expansions past that, no class would be beneficial over the other stat-wise.
But Trolls also share similarities with Iksars, in that they have a standing regen of 12 at lvl 60, and I believe they have night vision naturally. They also have slam. They're huge, which can suck in some instances, but if you're a warrior, then a lot of the time being huge is your purpose (to be noticable, to be in the way, to be an immovable force). You'll have trouble gaining the same amount of dex/agi as any other warrior, but to a large extent your hp will far exceed other warriors who aren't biggies.
I'm partial to regen, though. That was always the massive benefit to being an Ikky monk. Fungi/ spirit cord/ Dain 10 ring was insane. That's like 39 a tick running around. In a case where you can't get a DoT off of you, it's super effective in at least absorbing a big portion of the damage. In jousting situations that take time, there's a serious edge too. It just depends on what you value more.

That's just it, you can stack your regen nicely - I was a troll war with a fungi/tusk and it would give a huge edge, if it's vs melee you can literally force them to make shitty jousts just because you're regening so much. Hang back play somewhat defensive with fake jousts and force them to be aggressive. -20fr meh, if you're in a grp and they're focusing you that's a win anyway, and if you're solo, that war vs caster fight probably won't go your way in most situations anyway. I am sure people can theorycraft this shit to make trolls look shitty, but big race stats regen and slam = win, + look sick as hell.
