Well... You are essentially taking up more bandwidth and server resources and contributing less to the community... It seems inconsequential, but if everyone did it you'd have a ton of people duoing with their box instead of interacting with the community and grouping. So I don't think it's fair to say that it has no effect. I think it just ruins a lot of the classic feel by making people less dependent on others. *shrug*
