I have to agree with OP. All this "classic" era stuff has so much grey area. EQ in my opinion even after it went live was in a constant state of beta. Just look at the patch notes some of them are PAGES long. They we're working out bugs, fixing server instability, and improving classes via player feedback. I want to make a point that just because something functioned a certain way at release does not make it set in stone as being the "classic way".
My main gripe is the cancellation of SOW from root landing. This is just over the top and was only around for a short period because the community spoke up. I can agree that getting snared SHOULD cancel sow but root is ridiculous.
