There's always the chance they might not be aware it's bannable here. I didn't know at first.

I was going to let my sister use my wireless connection and try EQ with me when I first found out about this server, and I'm happy she never did because it would have been two accounts on the same connection at the same time without me knowing it was bannable. I've bragged about how superior this game is to WoW and now I finally found a server that emulates classic. It's the perfect opportunity to show her what she missed.

Now, if she wants to play this game she has to get her own connection. I'm not taking chances. It's not like my wifi is often strong enough for her to connect to anyway. She's a few doors down and the signal gets weak but it does sometimes work well enough.

The server prevents you from logging in twice from the same connection, giving a temporary IP block error. In order to bypass, you need to apply for the IP Exemption. In addition to the fact that you'd have to do this to bypass it (thus meaning you're already aware boxing is not allowed), we make it very clear on the exemption replies that boxing will get you banned.

Not knowing isn't an excuse.

Your exemption has been granted. If the accounts listed haven't logged off since this post, log out completely for it to take effect.

Remember the rules: 1 client per Real Life player at any time. Deviation from this rule will result in permanent bans.

Make sure everyone thoroughly understands and follows this rule.

Enjoy the server!

Here's a tip to not get banned if you have an ip exemption: When you and a buddy are online at the same ip DON'T GO AFK. The risk you run when on an ip exemption is that the Guides and GMs will have their eye on you. I would argue this story 99% can be avoided by playing attentively when you are playing, particularly if you are playing together.

If you do get banned(wrongly) it probably can easily be remedied by 1) not posting in the public forum 2) posting in the petition area and stating your case without being an ASSHAT about it. The Guides and GMs aren't dumb and they are not unreasonable. You are probably not gonna get banned for sitting around casting buffs on your friend as long as you are attentive to your character. Yes if you AFK for 10+ minutes while your buddy runs around it's gonna look like you are two boxing.

Yeah for the percentage of people who have been banned wrongly, if you go about it right I'm pretty sure you will be reinstated.

I cannot stress enough for people with IP exemptions, don't go AFK! You need to understand that you are in a situation that the average player or live account is not, and going AFK can jeopardize the privilege you have to play with 2+ computers on the same IP.

If you must go afk suck it up and camp out, or if you are in a group let EVERYONE know that you are going afk for x amount of time. If it's just you and your buddy CAMP CAMP CAMP. save your own ass.

Logging out to go afk is not necessary, no staff here will ban a suspected two box simply because one of them isn't moving. We do, however, have several other methods and information available to us, some of which can lead us to a two box conclusion with or without the character(s) being afk.

I was hoping this was a hacker with a story, but I do love a good 2 boxer ban.
